Why everyone is removing headphone jack?

Last year when #Apple removed headphone jack from iPhone 7 every one bashed this decision. Apple explained as

Maintaining an ancient, single-purpose, analogue, big connector doesn’t make sense because that space is at a premium

This year many companies including Google removed headphone jack from their flagship and no one explained why? but Min-Liang Tan CEO of Razer provided reason to remove headphone jack.

Why Razer opt-out headphone jack?

Mr. Tan: I see a lot of feedback on the removal of the headphone jack on the Razer Phone – and I wanted to share some of the thought process when we made the decision.

By removing the headphone jack they added around 500mah additionally in battery size, improved thermals for performance and much more.
